Overview

Silicon Image's SATA core serves as the basis for its market-leading SATALink™ product family comprising both SATA host controller and bridge solutions. This core combines the host-side Transport, Link and PHY layers of SATA with a PCI interface. The SATALink core may be licensed as a complete block or separated into the host-side core, (HCORE™) Link and Transport functional blocks. With its integrated serializer/deserializer (SerDes), it supports both two and four independent SATA channels with a transfer rate of 1.5 and 3 Gbps.

PIO & DMA modes, Bus master first party DMA, Command buffering and read ahead, Up to 4 MB external flash

External BIOS, Supports ATAPI devices, 1, 2 or 4 channels using single PLL

Optional Hardware Features: Asynchronous notification (hot plug), Native command queuing, FIS based switching port (port multiplier), Extended SATA cable length, BIST for PHY operation

Optional RAID & Non-RAID Software: RAID 0, 1, 5, 10 & JBOD supported, Hot spare and online rebuilding, Supports multiple logical devices, Various windows OS and Linux
