The ESM-02 is an embedded security module targeted at the new PCI (Payment Card Industry) specification. This specification requires that merchants maintain sensitive information such as credit card numbers; personal identifier numbers (PINs) and other customer information in encrypted form. The specification includes the encryption and key generation requirements and criteria for robustness against common attack techniques such as physical attacks and power analysis. Please note that the ESM-02 requires memory for data and contexts. Please contact Elliptic for more information about the memory requirement.
