The MR74046 is a high precision low power junction temperature sensor that has been developed to be easily embedded into digital ASIC designs.
The block features an exclusively digital interface and includes a power down function to reduce standby current.
The temperature sensor can be instanced multiple times in a single chip. A digital RTL interface is also provided to enhance integration and support multi instance applications.
Typical temperature sensor uses include clock speed optimisation, power management, Silicon characterisation and thermal management.
Features
All input/output signals are fully digital enabling simple integration.
The temperature measurement range is from -25C to 125C.
The accuracy or absolute error is ±1ºC (typical), ±5ºC (max).
Utilises a 12 bit Sigma Delta ADC for increased precision (0.25ºC).
The circuit can be instantiated multiple times for die temperature profiling.
Wide supply range of 1.8V to 3.3V.
Circuit targets a standard logic process option.
