EDA industry veteran Randy Smith takes the helm as CEO

TORONTO — (BUSINESS WIRE) — March 10, 2011 — POLYTEDA Software Corp., provider of the most advanced technology for addressing the physical verification needs of deep sub-wavelength processes, has appointed Randy Smith as the new CEO to lead the company through its next stage of growth as a technology leader and worldwide player in the physical verification segment of electronic design automation (EDA) market.

Mr. Smith brings over 30 years of experience in electronic design and EDA. He was a co-founder of Tangent Corp., which was acquired by Cadence in February 1989. Mr. Smith has a successful track record as a technologist, having held executive roles in marketing, business development and sales, in large and small EDA companies. He holds a BS degree in electrical engineering from Cornell University and an MBA from Santa Clara University.

Vlad Marchuk, the former CEO and co-founder of POLYTEDA, has assumed the role of CTO. He will focus on defining the technology direction for the company.

Igor Lopanenko, a co-founder and physical verification guru, has been appointed to Chief Scientist. He will focus on addressing the physical verification challenges of the most advanced process technologies.
